So This Just Happened … Apple Pie Maple Pecan Cake!

One of the best things about fall is the fall desserts. And this Apple Pie Maple Pecan Cake has all of your favorite fall desserts.


It starts out with a vanilla cake, where the center is filled with an apple pie filling and frosted with a delicious  Salted Caramel Frosting. It also has a really unique ingredient that takes the flavor of this cake to a new level. This unique flavor is maple syrup.

Once you try this new fall dessert it will become one of your favorites.

Ingredients

Basic Vanilla Cake recipe
1 teaspoon (5ml) maple syrup extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Salted Caramel Frosting recipe; link above

For Filling:
4 large apples, peeled and diced
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter

For Chocolate Ganache:
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream, steaming hot
additional chopped nuts, for garnish
