Succulent Plants are everywhere nowadays so why not create a cupcake to represent it. At first glance they look a little overwhelming but after watching her little hidden tricks it takes the edge off. I know this is just a trend and like everything else it will fade away but I absolutely love the look of these Succulent Cupcakes and pretty happy that for now I can make them for anyone who wants them.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (or 1 stick) butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
2tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
Procedure:
1. Preheat oven to 350F
2. Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs one at a time, then add in vanilla extract and stir to combine.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Add half the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and combine. Mix in the milk, and finish with remaining half of dry ingredients.
4. Divide batter evenly between 12 cupcake liners. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Buttercream Recipe
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 T milk
Procedure:
1.Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract, and add enough milk to reach desired consistency.
2. Divide frosting between three bowls and color one half with green food coloring and one half with tan.
For decoration:
Donut holes
Green, pink, purple, and yellow fondant
6 graham crackers, crushed
