A Red Velvet Cake That Will Absolutely Have Your Mouth Watering

You really can’t get any more iconic than a Red Velet Cake. There is something so beautiful, but at the same time so simple about this cake that makes me want to make it over and over again.

In the past I have always tried to perfect it and now that I found his recipe I think that I might have. This is such a simple and fail proof recipe.

Besides the cake itself, the cream cheese frosting also adds an incredible flavor to this already fabulous cake.I also love how she decorates this cake. Only fosting the top and leaving the sides naked really makes this cake stand out. And I simply love the strawberries on top. This is a great cake to serve for any occasion which is why it is such a favorite.


1 cup (236ml) whole milk
1 tablespoon (14ml) vinegar
3/4 cup (170g) butter, melted
1 1/2 cups (300g) white granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cup (218g) all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons (16g) baking powder
2 tablespoons (14g) cocoa powder
red food coloring
16 ounces (453g) cream cheese, softened
1 cup (226g) butter, softened
4 cups (500g) confectioner’s sugar
2 tablespoons (30ml) heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
strawberries for garnish, optional
