2 Flavor Combinations That Had Me Saying … WHAT?!?

I love to make easy desserts, however there are times that I love making a beautiful dessert that takes time and patience to bake. This Lavender and Peach cake is not only a cake that has one of the most unique flavor combinations of peach and lavender but it is also one of the most beautiful cakes that I have seen.

This is definitely a cake that you want to take and show off to your friends. Not only will they be wowed by the look but I know for sure that this cake, will be for most people, the first time that they had such a unique and delicious flavor combination.



3/4 cup (170g) butter, softened at room temperature
1 1/2 cups (300g) white granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon lavender oil
4 large eggs
1 cup (236ml) milk
purple food coloring; optional
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons (16g) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt

For Meringue Buttercream:
1 cup (200g) white granulated sugar
1/3 cup (79ml) water
5 large egg whites
2 cups (453g) butter, softened at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract
purple food coloring
1/2 cup peach preserves
